True Take-Home

Salary tables 2026/27

Take-home pay for every salary from £2,026 to £200,000, computed on the 2026/27 HMRC rates for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each row assumes the standard 1257L tax code, no pension contribution and no student loan; each salary links to its own page with the band-by-band breakdown, the student loan and pension variants, and the questions that salary gets asked. Scottish taxpayers have their own table, because Scotland sets its own bands.

The share kept falls in steps rather than smoothly: it drops at £50,270 where higher-rate tax starts, again through the £100,000 personal allowance taper, and again at the additional rate. Read down the last column and the steps are visible. A salary not listed here can be run on the take-home pay calculator, which also handles pension arrangements, all five student loan plans and every tax code.
